Sunday
night, March 1st, God used us to help organize another prayer meeting.
This one is meeting in the homes. On Wednesday nights we are having a prayer
meeting in the little Free Will church here where we live. Then on Sundays
we have the Sunday School at the head of the creek, but about half way
between these two places here is a group of folk which neither of these
services reach, so we decided to have the prayer meeting in the different
homes in this particular section. Last Sunday night the meeting was held
in the home of a man who was at one time a bootlegger, and I understand
did not believe in God. Last Fall he was converted in one of the meetings
in which we were helping and has made a definite stand for God.
We certainly praise God and
thank you for the tracts. I would like to put out about two dozen boxes
to start with. These boxes will have two pockets or sections for tracts
and I believe about 50 to a section or one hundred to a box. What do you
think about this? So about 2,500 or 3,000 will start us off in fine shape,
if you can arrange to send them. If not, any amount you can send will be
appreciated.

We are having very good Sunday
Schools, and we certainly praise God for the one on Pigeon Roost, as it
has branched out into a prayer meeting on Wednesday nights, meeting here
and there in the homes. They are really going along in fine shape. Isn't
it wonderful to be saved, and leading others to our blessed Lord and Savior?
Praise His name forever and forever.
We have been having our biggest
snows of the year, ranging from about two feet to drifts of fifteen feet
along the highways. The school bus failed to run four days last week, and
the mail was snowed up for two days. Some Winter! I walked to the Sunday
School on the head of the creek Sunday, March 1st. I wish you could have
been here to go along with me. I really believe you would enjoy a stroll
of about six or eight miles through the snow. This has been a very open
winter up until the last few weeks. I have walked to the Sunday School
only three times thus far.
Monday night, March 2nd,
I was suddenly taken ill and have been feeling pretty badly ever since.
That is why I haven't written you before this. I am just now getting up
and around. I got a young man in the community to take Frances to the Sunday
School on the head of the creek, as I was not able to go.
Please keep praying for the
work here, and that we will be great soul winners for Him, and that we
will always be clean channels that He can us to the utmost—also remember
our health. |
