Soul Talk:
Speaking with Power Into the Lives of Others
In this extraordinary book, Dr. Larry Crabb introduces a
revolutionary new way for Christians to experience God. It is a
process he calls "soul talk." Soul talk happens when
two Christians talk to each other in a way that results in their
passion for God being stirred, ignited, and released. It’s
about learning a language that when used, releases supernatural
power that enables people to move to the deepest level of
relationships with each other and with God. The culmination of a
lifetime of research and writing, Soul Talk carries a vision for
what the Church was created to be.

The Pressure's Off
There's a New Way to Live
There are two basic approaches to life–two pathways. One
creates pressure, the other provides freedom.
In the Old Way of life, as best-selling author, psychologist,
and spiritual director Larry Crabb describes it, “you have
decided that what you most want out of life is within your
reach, and you are doing whatever you believe it takes to get
it.” But in the New Way of life, “you have realized that
what you most want is beyond your reach, and you are trusting
God for the satisfaction you seek. You want Him. Nothing less,
not even His blessings, will do.”
The Old Way–the way most Christians define life and pursue
fulfillment–is fundamentally wrong and harmful. It leaves us
tired, in bondage, and feeling distant from God. But the New Way
brings true freedom and refreshment as we tap into the power to
draw closer to God in a personal way.
“We can’t always make life work. But we can always draw near
to God. There is a different way to approach our problems. There
is a NEW WAY to live.” —Larry Crabb

Shattered
Dreams
God's Unexpected Pathway to Joy
Learn how to look through life's tragedies and see the lavish
blessings God has for you. "Shattered dreams," writes
Dr. Larry Crabb, "are never random. They are always a piece
in a larger puzzle, a chapter in a larger story. The Holy Spirit
uses the pain of shattered dreams to help us discover our desire
for God, to help us begin dreaming the highest dream. They are
ordained opportunities for the Spirit first to awaken, then to
satisfy our highest dream."
To help you understand this neglected truth in the deepest and
most helpful way, Larry Crabb has written a wise, hopeful,
honest, and realistic examination of life's difficulties and
tragedies. He wraps his insights around the bold story of Naomi
in the Bible's book of Ruth.
As Crabb retells and illuminates this sometimes disturbing and
often profoundly touching story, we are shown how God stripped
Naomi of happiness in order to prepare her for joy. And we gain
an unforgettable picture of how God uses shattered dreams to
release better dreams and a more fulfilling life for those He
loves. Shattered dreams have the power to change our lives for
good. Forever.
"Making my own plans, setting my own goals, promoting my
own agenda, nurturing my own ambition--in short living out my
own dreams--are sure ways to get less than God wants to give me.
Therefore, I praise God for shattering my dreams...and I praise
God for Larry Crabb, who has courageously, clearly, and
compassionately defined a biblical principle that is largely
misunderstood." —Anne Graham Lotz

The
Safest Place on Earth
Where People Connect and are Forever
Changed
(Also available in audio
cassette.)
Larry Crabb believes that, rather than a place for people to
display their goodness and hide their failures in fear of
censure, the church should be open, supportive, and
compassionate in dealing with our weaknesses. It should be a
place of spiritual community where people understand that
brokenness is the pathway to a deeper relationship with God and
others. Where people connect in ways that create a passion for
God deeper than all other passions. Where people believe in the
power of spiritual friendships as the best care for hurting
souls. Where people reach that sacred place of vulnerability
where lives are forever changed.
"The honesty and urgency that characterizes these pages is
a welcome contrast to the prevailing entrepreneurial spirit of
our age that turns community into a commodity."—Eugene
Peterson, Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent
College
"This book casts the vision of the heart of God for the
church as community, and spoke to some of my deepest personal
longings. I cannot recommend it highly enough."—James
Emery White, author of You
Can Experience a Spiritual Life.
