Had a great January with some wonderful times of leading worship and teaching Bible study. Our Tuesday a.m. group has started a study of 1 John. John has been called the "Apostle of Love" (although some people thought that title belonged to the late Barry White : )  So, if John was the Apostle of Love, perhaps we can call his New Testament writings the Gospel of Love, the Epistles of Love and the Revelation of Love. They are all about God's love-gift to the world, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Healing Conference

The healing mission at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Valrico, FL went very well. I led worship throughout the day and we enjoyed a sense of the Lord's presence. I learned a while back that the way to lead worship is to watch for the leading of the Holy Spirit, and He always shows up.  The second hour, we heard a strong teaching on dealing with unforgiveness, which we believe is a very important issue in healing.

I taught the third hour, bringing a word on the authority we have for faith and healing prayer. It goes all the way back to the mandate God gave Adam, and which has been restored to us in Jesus Christ. We have the authority of Jesus' blood (by His stripes we were healed, Isaiah 53), Jesus' name, and the prayer He taught us to pray: "Kingdom of God, come. Will of God, be done on earth as it is in heaven." Afterward, Suzanne and I had the opportunity to pray healing over some people. I really enjoyed that part, particularly hearing the wisdom of God that flowed from Suzanne as we prayed together there. We look for more opportunities to teach and share about the healing ministry, to lay hands in prayer for people, and watch what the Lord doesthe visions, the prophecies and the healings.

IAM 2006

This month we look forward (February 21-24) to the annual convening of the International Apostolic Ministries, the body that has ordained Suzanne and me. It is always a great time of fellowship, worship and teaching that boosts us into a new place in our walk with the Lord and the destiny He has prepared for us. The theme this year is on the revelation of the ministry of Jesus the Messiah as the rock upon which He is building His Church.

Notes From Our Friends

  • From Rosalyn: I wanted to let you know that I got your package in the mail yesterday afternoon. Thank you so much! The book is incredible. I love that it has the Scriptures and prayers to say modeling how to pray the Word. I showed my step-mom this afternoon and she wants to buy a copy. Like she said, it is a "must have" for the bookshelf because it lays everything out so nicely that a person can take that book and hit the ground running. I'm the type of person who needs to see an example. When someone tells me something like "pray the Scripture," I can't do it unless I see someone else do it first. That book does that so nicely by providing a template of prayers that go along with the Scripture. [Talking about our Healing Scriptures and Prayers book.]

  • Good morning, Jeff and Suzanne. Just wanted to send a note of thanks and encouragement for your ministry. I have been struggling the past few days with forgiveness over something I thought I was long over. The Lord directed me to your website this morning and there was the blog on forgiveness. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness. Know that you are impacting lives! [Talking about our Faith Log blog, Either Way—Forgive! ]

FAITH-BUILDER:
Remembering the Benefits
At the Table of the LORD

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits.
(Psalm 103:2)

Do this in remembrance of Me. (Luke 22:19)

The other day, as I went to the Table of the Lord, He put me in mind of Psalm 103. I had actually begun meditating on a different psalm at the time when 103 entered, unbidden, into my thoughts. So I went with it.

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:1-5)

Remembering. That is what the Lord’s Table is about, for it is a continuing sign of covenant. When Jesus took the cup, He said, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:20). “This do as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me” (1 Corinthians 11:25).

The making of covenant is the shedding of blood, but the essence of covenant is in exchange: He gives me all that is His; I give Him all that is mine. Isaiah shows us a vivid picture of the exchange Jesus the Messiah made for us: (continued online ...)

The Order of a Son:
Developing the Unique Relationship Between Spiritual Fathers and Sons

by Mark Hanby (with Roger Roth)

In order for the purposes of God to be sustained in this generation the Church must get a vision for the next generation. In The Order of a Son you will discover the greatness of this vision and how it can be implemented in the local church. Dr. Mark Hanby provides a Biblical base that will enable the Church to meet her future — in her sons.

Every Elijah needs an Elisha and every Paul needs a Timothy and every Church needs a generation that is prepared to realize their own destiny. The Order of a Son will show how the Church can equip and release her sons into their ultimate destiny.

Without the true ministry of fathers to sons, there can never be a double-portion blessing to continue the LORD's work and the church will most certainly die in the next generation. True fathers will:

  • Empower sons to receive their godly inheritance
  • Teach their sons to forge lasting relationships
  • Show the true biblical blueprint for better evangelism
  • Help their sons to step into the call of God
  • Teach their sons sensitivity to the Holy Spirit

The mark of a mature ministry is one that desires sons and not just followers.

"Biblical sonship is a position in Christ, not a gender. Dr. Mark Hanby has understood this powerful truth and explained it better than any other man I know." — Don Nori, Publisher, Destiny Image, Inc.
