Here's how it works:

• All our books, CDs, MP3s and Kindle ebooks are avaible online at Amazon.com.
• When you link to these products at Amazon and someone purchases any of them through your link, you receive an affiliate fee from Amazon.
• The fee is a percentage of Amazon's retail price (4% to10%, or more, depending upon type of product and quantity purchased through your links each month).
• To qualify to receive this fee, you just sign up in Amazon's Associates program, which is simple to do — and FREE!

Sign Up

To sign up for the Associates Program, click HERE, where you can register, as well as learn more about the program. After you sign up and have been approved by Amazon, you are ready to create Amazon links to our books and CDs.

Create Links

There are a variety of links you can create and Amazon has made the process simple and easy. First, sign into your Amazon Associates account. This will take you to your "control panel," where you can set up links and keep track of how many items have been purchased through your links, along with a summary of your affiliate fees. Each link you create will be encoded with a special identifier assigned to you by Amazon — this is how Amazon will keep track of your affiliate fees.

Along the top of this page, you will see a row of tabs. Click on "Links & Banners." This is where you will create your basic links. In the left hand column, click on "Product Links."

Here is a standard product link. It shows an image of the product, along with price information and a link that leads to the Amazon page for that product. You create it on the "Product Links" page by entering the ASIN or ISBN number of a product into the seach box to the right of the word "for." (See below for a list of the ASIN or ISBN numbers for our books, CDs, MP3s and Kindle ebooks.)

In this case, the ISBN for Healing Scriptures and Prayers (book) is 0974474819. When you enter that into the search box, it will bring up an image of that book, along with its title. In the far right hand column, click on the yellow "Get Link" button. This will lead you to a page where you can customize the link and get the HTML code to insert in your web page.

Select Link Type

In box 1, you will select the link type. The first option, the "Text and Image" display is the one I have used at left. There are a number of ways you can customize this link (box 2), if you wish, but I usually go with the default settings. Box 3 is where you "Get HTML Code For This Product Link." Click the "Highlight HTML" button and copy it. Then paste it into your web page.

Link option 2, "Image Only," is a bit tricky to work with and involves saving a special image to your server. Link option 3, "Text Only,"can also be tricky to get the special rollover effect displayed on the "Product Links" page.

Text Only Link

The easiest way to create a "text only" link is to right-click on the text link, copy it and insert it in the usual way you make your links. Here is a sample: Healing Scriptures and Prayers. This kind of link is one you can use just about anywhere online.

Create Widgets

Widgets are fun, and if you know HTML fairly well, are not difficult to make. They help create interest and provide an effective way to show your links. Here are sample links to a couple of our Healing Scriptures and Prayers CD/MP3s. Notice that when you click on the arrow in the center of each image, it reveals a list of the tracks and begins to play them — this is a great way for your web visitors to listen to audio samples of these CD/MP3s.

I find it best to link to the MP3 pages instead of to the CD pages. The MP3s offer audio previews; the CD pages do not. Also, there is a link from the MP3 pages to the corresponding CD pages. I also like the fact that the MP3 album downloads (that's the entire CD) are only $8.99, considerably less than the CD cost of $14.99. And the fee structure for MP3s is 10% of the retail price, instead of 4-6% with CDs. So it is less expensive for your visitors, yet it also creates as good or better income stream for your ministry. Also, the MP3 tracks can be purchased invidivually (for $0.99) as well as by full album download (full album is a better deal for your guests, but its nice for them to have options). So, linking to the MP3s offers the most choices. And, of course, you can link by use of these widgets, or just by a simple product link.

Create MP3 Widgets

1. To create MP3 widgets like the ones above, go to your Amazon Associates control panel and click on the "Widgets" tab in the row along the top of the page.
2. This will take you to another page where you will see a number of widget types. Click on the one labeled "MP3 Clips Widget."
3. This will take you to the "MP3 Clips Widget" page where you will see a search box. In the box next to "MP3 Downloads," enter the ASIN number of the MP3 album you want to link to. For example, the number for the one I linked to above (on the right) is B001KWUE9Y.
4. The result will take you to a new page where you will see that album. Click on the "add album" button, which is nearby.
5. This will add that album to the widget, in the box to the right. Then click on the "Next step" button. There are a few formats to choose from, but I use the default, which is the large format, 250 x 250 (this is what I used in the examples above).
6. When the widget is the way you want it, you are ready to "Save." This will save the widget information for you at Amazon.
7. Now it is ready to add to your web page. Click on "Add to my Web page." You can add it to your Blogger, Wordpress or Typepad blogs, to your MySpace, Google pages or a few other options. Or you can add it directly to your personal or ministry web page by clicking on the "Copy" button and pasting it into your web page.

Carousel Widget

Here is another widget that is fun to use. It is called a Carousel Widget. Find it on the Widget page and follow the directions, using the ASIN or ISBN numbers of the products you want to link to. The Carousel Widget can be set up horizontally, like a carousel, or vertically, like a ferris wheel. (Notice what happens when you roll your cursor over any of the books.)

A-Store

Another way you can use links — and this is one you can really go wild with — is with the A-Store. Yes, Amazon gives you a way to set up your own online storefront. HERE is one we have set up. As you will see, you can create an A-store for yourself, linking to our books and CDs, and to many others products as well. You can simply create one at Amazon and link to it from your page. Or, if you are pretty good with HTML, you can incorporate it into your own web page, like THIS. To create your own webstore, click on the "A-Store" tab in the row along the top of your Associates control page and follow the directions.
